About Us
Who We Are THE SOUND OF A TRUMPET conference is not produced by any particular church or ministry. It is simply the joint vision of a few ordinary men who desire to encourage themselves and others to be true Christian men in the faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ. Even though the speakers are from different churches, they unite in the common bond of the good news of the death, burial, and resurrection (the gospel) of Jesus Christ, with the shared interest in seeing the body of Christ (the church) flourish in all respects, among which is the blessing of men realizing their God-given calling as sons, brothers, husbands, fathers, grandfathers; and, even more fundamentally, as true men. Our Mission
We desire to encourage men, and their families, in the faith, hope and love of Jesus Christ. Faith, hope and love inform every area of life, including our view of man in general and men and women in particular. The fundamental characteristics of true manhood are
culturally and temporally universal. However, each generation faces its
own unique challenges due to the historical, cultural, and religious
context in which it lives. THE SOUND OF A TRUMPET is an effort to address the specific challenges faced by the men—young and old—of our
time, and in our shared circumstances. We therefore seek to emphasize what we consider to be the pressing needs of the men of our time: active leadership in the home, church, and society; strength
of mind, integrity, and conviction; freedom from lust and other
seductions of the flesh; maturity of thought and action; chivalrous
honor and respect for women; humility even in boldness; strong sense of
life calling and the work ethic to realize it; passion for the present
and a vision for the future, even for future generations; and the
pursuit of excellence in all endeavors. Since
masculinity is not disconnected from femininity, and since godly
mothers have such influence in the making of godly men, we desire to
encourage and build up women as well, in the context of our focus on
building up men. Thus, we invite men to bring their families,
relatives, and acquaintances, both men and women, boys and girls. Our Standard
The Bible is Holy Spirit inspired amd inerrant word of God, and the rule of faith and obedience. God has communicated a special revelation of Himself in this written form through language which man can comprehend and to which we are held accountable.
